Men's Watches

If you are always looking for the latest trends, designers, and the newest men's watches on the market, then you may be interested in the Bernhard Lederer Only Watch (also known as Gagarin Platinum Flying Tourbillion timepiece). This watch really is a great example of the brand's intention to use creativity when they are creating and designing their new watches. This watch by Bernhard presents a new twist to the limited edition Gagarin Tourbillion, which was created to mark the 50th anniversary of when man first flew into space.

This Swiss watch maker created the watch to mark the event, and commemorate one of the greatest accomplishments in mankind's history. The watch was designed for a charity auction, and the manufacturer created this unique watch with a different dial, but still offering the same movement and features, as in the original watch. However, the center of the watch features a brused anthracite dial, which is covered in 18K gold, and is hand engraved in the design of the map of the world, which is the centerpiece design on the watch. The most unique feature of this watch (although there are many), is the flying tourbillion, which makes a full counter clockwise rotation at every 108th minute. The reason for the 108 marking is to coincide with the timing of Gagarin's flight in space, which lasted for 108 minutes. It is truly a creatively ingenious watch.

Another tribute to the flight into space by Garagin is the fact that the flying tourbillion is suspended by a sweeping bridge, which is an exact replica of a statute which was made in Garagin's honor, to mark the historical mission into space, 5 decades ago. There is also a magnifying glass which was designed to replicate a window of the Vostok space capsule which was used for the first flight. With the unique and imaginative design by Bernhard Lederer, the wearer of the watch will even be in a similar position as Garagin was, when he looked down at the Earth, while flying into space. The designer of this classic watch really took no shortcuts to pay tribute to this anniversary of this incredible feat, as well as for the charity auction at which the watch was to be sold at.

The actual movement of the watch is set in a round case, which is 42 mm wide and 15 mm thick, and is made with 950 platinum. The strap of the watch is made with a black alligator material, and has a platinum buckle for the enclosure. The watch can also be worn under water, as it is water resistant up to 30 meters. With so much precision, such an authentic and creative design, and only the best materials used by this Swiss manufacturer, they are hoping that the watch will go from anywhere between $290K and up to $435K at the charity auction.

So, if you want a piece of history, and you want to support a charity at the same time, place your bid when the Bernhard Lederer watch is put up for auction in late August this year.
